How to Utilize Tea to Create a Communi-Tea
A workshop exploring storytelling techniques
to bring tea into our everyday life.
A modern day twist of tea appreciation,
inspired by the history of tea and local sumatra farmer stories.
Infusing the five senses of tea making,
from the sound of water bubbling,
smell of fresh brewed tea,
the colorful elixirs from different tea blends,
and warmth of the cup,
and every unique taste of tea,
delivered perfectly through tales to soothe the spirit of the participants,
encouraging them to use tea as a tool to engage in a conversation,
to advocate causes that we believe in
and be a part of a communi-tea

Lizzie Chan
Tea Brewer, Tales Through Tea
Lizzie is the eldest born in the family,
yet who always possesses a child-like intuition in life.Â
Through her love of comedy and tea,
Lizzie uses that as the magical infusion to open the first tea room
in her birth-town Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia.
With her previous experience in working as a copywriter and owning a bar,
she realizes how much we are all simply craving for a genuine conversation,
yet without revealing so much of our personal conflicts.
We all have a story that deserves to be told.
Lizzie opened ‘Tales Through Tea’ in 2018,
as a simple room for friends to drink tea,
but now it has grown into a sanctuary where sharing our tales is a quick therapy
we all need to thrive in a bustling city.
